Buon Giorno! We made it to Sicily! Here are some pics of our travel so far.
Arriving at the Augusta Airport … btw my luggage was 7 pounds over – 57 lbs!! Before you start laughing, note that I had quiet time booklets and training packets in my luggage … the 6 pairs of shoes in my bag had absolutely nothing to do with the weight overage! :))
It's a prop plane … ugh!! No worries though, Linda calmed my nerves (or rather, I should say, got on my nerves … lol) as she broke into song as we were taking off … "Off we go into the wild blue yonder …"
We arrived safely in Charlotte where we saw none other than Tracey Drake and her mother in the middle of the airport. We quickly made our way to Chili's to get one last chips 'n salsa fix and made last-minute calls to home. My sweet JD wanted to know how many planes it would take me to get to Sicily. I told him three and he said, "Three! Really, three? I hope one of your planes doesn't crash on you!" I assured him that all would be fine and reminded him to pray for us when he said his bedtime prayers. He said he would. So, JD, your prayers were answered my little one. Mommy's safe and all is well. I pray you, Austen, Leanna and Daddy have a great day. Remember I love you so much!!
On the plane from Charlotte to Rome we slept like angels thanks to Lunesta and Roger's Bose Headphones that block out sound … where have those been all my life?!? We arrived in Rome an hour early, then waited for five hours for our plane to Sicily. No worries … we had a cappuccino, a pastry and caught a few more zzzz's before boarding our final plane.
Jamie and Dexter (Linda's daughter and grandson) picked us up from the airport. Dexter is so precious … a true Italian bambino! Tonight we're going to Donna Fortunata in Motta Saint Anastasia for dinner. It sounds wonderful and seeing as how eating is one of my favorite things to do, it should be a great experience!
Tomorrow is a fun day of sightseeing before it's time for Women's Ministry training with the PWOC of Sigonella on Friday. I'm looking so forward to meeting these precious women. I'm praying for instant connections, transparency, encouragement and changed lives. Mostly, it is my heart's desire for the Lord to be glorified in every way.

Until next time …
Ciao!
