I cannot tell you how excited I am to get to embark on this incredible journey. My son, Austen and I, along with 18 others from Warren Baptist Church will be traveling to Swaziland, Africa over the next 12 days.
The purpose of our trip is to display love and encouragement to the precious children and “go-go’s” at the two care points our church sponsors. We will get to share the hope we have in Jesus and the love He so lavishly pours out on us.
I am beyond thrilled to get to share this experience with my 15-year-old son, Austen. This will forever (and I mean forever) change his perspective and heart, and I am eternally grateful to get to witness what the Lord will do in his heart and in mine!
One of the most compelling things about this trip to me is the fact that I personally have no agenda, no to-do list, no preconceived notions, no “job” to do, no leadership role. I simply get to go, and be, and do as the Lord leads. And may I be completely honest with you and say that my soul needs that right now. I am weary and burdened, and I personally need a new perspective, a new attitude, a new passion and zeal. I long for simple rather than complex, peace in the place of chaos, the sound of God’s voice rather than the ping of an email, text, or telephone.
Off the grid … that’s where I’m headed.
Hugs, smiles, hearts full of love and joy … that’s on the horizon.
We’re coming for you precious ones!
I look forward to sharing glory stories with you when we return. Until then, please pray for us, for the people of Swazi and for our family back home.

Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen. – Ephesians 3:20-21
