Read Exodus 25:10-22
- The Ark of the Covenant (Ark of the Testimony) sat within the veil in the Holy of Holies. Residing inside the Ark was a pot of manna, it also held Aaron’s staff that budded, and the two stone tablets with the ten commandments. The Mercy Seat or Atonement Cover was on the top of the Ark. This is where the priest would sprinkle the blood once a year to make atonement for the sins of man. Two cherubim facing each other with wings outstretched, hovered over the Mercy Seat and in between the two cherubim God’s presence dwelt.
Jesus is the Mercy Seat. His body broken, and His blood shed for you and me gives us grace and mercy in our brokenness.
Read John 20:11-12
