Today I’m beginning a new series on my blog that will post every Wednesday. I’m earmarking the middle of each week as Into the Word Wednesdays.
I’m sure the title is self explanatory, but just in case you miss my point, I’ll elaborate.
In each Into the Word Wednesday post, we will study God’s Word together. Yes, I know most of my blog posts are devotional in content and 99.9% of the time include Scriptures and faith-based content, however, Into the Word Wednesdays will be full on Bible Study posts. We will really get into the Word together, and I’m way excited about this!
I love connecting with friends, and I love studying God’s Word, so why not smash the two together in the middle of the week for one big, fat WOW on Wednesdays!
So let’s do this! Let’s get Into the Word with our online friends each and every middle of the weekday. We will have loads of fun and learn amazing things about God from each other. So much so that hump day will turn into jump day, cause we’ll be jumping for joy every time it rolls around.
Now before we get going with Into the Word Wednesdays (which doesn’t officially begin until February 3), I want to give you some background on our first study that we will begin together.
For years, studying the attributes of God has been my passion. I LOVE pondering the depths of God’s character. I LOVE experiencing God’s character at work in my life. I LOVE praying God’s attributes back to Him. Nothing fills me with greater joy, confidence, and assurance than shouting out praise to the King of Kings!
So, it probably doesn’t come as a surprise to you that I would write a Bible study about the character of God. But I didn’t want this study to be just “me” talking to “you” about God’s character. I wanted those who chose to embark on the study of God’s attributes with me to be fully engaged and intertwined with it. So the study that I’m going to unveil to you is quite INTERACTIVE. In other words, you have things to do, Scriptures to look up, questions to answer, prayers to pray, Remind Me techniques to try – you get the gist.
In other words, YOU will fully participate in this study, and in doing so, you will fully embrace the wonder of God’s nature and personality.
So … (drumroll, please) allow me to introduce my first, official, honest to goodness, published Bible study …
Remind Me: A Guide to Remembering HIS Attributes in Your Daily Life
The official debut for the book and online study is February 3, but you can get a sneak peak beginning next Wednesday evening, January 13 at Warren Baptist Church in room D110 at 6:15 if you’d like to join me. I had the privilege of teaching this study in the Fall of last year to a group of women I lovingly called my guinea pigs. They graciously worked through the first edition of Remind Me and helped in the editing process. Since then, I’ve add commentary to the lessons and hopefully caught each and every typo.
On February 3 I’ll begin teaching Remind Me online right here, but those of you nearby don’t have to wait. You can join me January 13, live and in person.
Next Wednesday on Into the Word Wednesdays, I’ll give you a sampling of what our study time together will be like. In the mean time, forward this post to your friends, neighbors, and co-workers so they can subscribe to the blog and be apart of this online community of friends who study the Word together.
