Precious Father, the new year reminds me of the newness that is found in Your Son, Jesus. He takes the rough, torn, and tattered parts of me and smoothes, perfects, and heals them. Thank You for new. Thank You for chances to begin again. I ask that You allow me to focus not on the past but on the present today. As I go about my day help me look to You to fill and complete me. Help me look to You for new strength not yesterday’s strength. Fill me with new joy from Your presence today. In Jesus’ name, amen.
